Join the Municipal Art Society of New York (MAS), the Historic Districts Council (HDC), and the New York Fashion Workforce Development Coalition (NYFWDC) on Thursday, December 11th at Wing & Weft Gloves from 5:00pm-7:00pm for an Enduring Culture Spotlight Event. Come explore the last glove manufacturer in the Garment District and hear about the collaboration and ingenuity that can only happen here in the district. This event celebrates the manufacturing heart of the New York City fashion industry while acknowledging the challenges its businesses are facing as the city changes and prices rise.
Speakers include Tessa Maffucci, Assistant Chair of the Fashion Department at Pratt Institute, Katie Sue Nicklos, CEO and owner of Wing & Weft Gloves, and Laura Weber, Owner & Creative Director of LW Pearl. Refreshments will be provided.
This event is part of MAS’ Enduring Culture Initiative, a multi-year effort that aims to expand New York City’s approach to preservation; to protect and celebrate more of the places, cultural activities, and histories that make our neighborhoods and communities unique.
